Optional and Mandatory Use of TrueFiling
eFiling is mandatory at the time that it becomes available in a court location. Court users should attend trainings, review available instructions and training resources on the TrueFiling User Resources page.
Self-represented litigants may, but will not be required to, efile documents using TrueFiling, even after the initial period of implementation. In addition, pursuant to Administrative Bulletin 92, parties who are required to efile documents using TrueFiling may file paper documents when there is a TrueFiling outage or malfunction or other internet system outage that makes eFiling impossible or impracticable, or when paper filing is necessary in the interest of justice.
eFiling Rules
The Supreme Court has authorized the Administrative Director to adopt provisional rules and procedures to support eFiling. See Supreme Court Order 1943. The signed provisional eFiling rules appear in Administrative Bulletin 92. These provisional rules are expected to change often as the court system gains more experience with eFiling. To suggest changes or additions to the provisional rules, please contact the Court Rules Attorney.
Using TrueFiling to Access Trial Court Files
TrueFiling provides online access to images of non-confidential documents in the trial court file for criminal cases only. Anyone added as a connected user and the email address they registered in TrueFiling will appear in the publicly viewable list of case contacts in TrueFiling until removed. Any user added or removed from the case contacts for each case will appear in the register of participant history.
Register for TrueFiling
To register for TrueFiling , you must provide a valid email address. The email address will be part of your credentials and will be the address used by the court and other parties for service of documents.
